Bat Model B?

Looking at a Bat Model B for a 6 Dasher build, question is I located one that the guy states it is a 1.75 round action, and has the dovetail 2 piece mounted on it. I would like to put the Bat 20moa picatinny rail on. On Bats website it does not list any of the scope mounting options with the 1.75" option. Is this action a flat top? Also it has no recoil lug with the xp cut so I'm feeling that it won't require an additional lug for this cartridge. Also a PPC bolt face but I'm sure my smith can open it up for a BR with out any extraction issues? RBLPRE action. Thanks everyone!

Id go with an mb for a dasher, the action is round on the top- they sell bases and one piece ring sets, get a br bolt face and dont try to molest the ppc bolt. Itll throw off every gunsmith from here on out

I have a model B 1.75, they are a special order diameter that's why they don't list any scope bases, you have to call them and order what you want for it. Mine will shoot ppc and br so check it before you buy it.

If you get a BAT they should have a Sako extractor or you will have ejection problems. The Sako makes them more reliable. That action is going to be heavy. Matt

If Bat built it, they can make you any scope base you want for it.

That sucker will be a tank.

You can always call Daryle and ask before you buy....

You should look at stock options before you buy that action. All you need for a dasher is an 1.350" B. Plenty for a 28" HV barrel.

Is a "tank" necessary to push the cartridge into the chamber? Strength to weight ratio: 17-4 stainless - 113-185 kN-m/kg. 7075 aluminum - 207 kN-m/kg.

Nope , it isn`t....

1.35" B here, I honestly haven`t seen one that diameter before.

Its a ppc railgun action. You may wanna check the weight of that dude if youre gonna use it in a 17lb gun. It seems to me youd be better off getting an action more suited to the ctg youre going to shoot. I have one over 2"dia but it doesnt even have scope base holes so check that too

Thanks for the replies guys! I'm on the look for a normal 1.35 Bat B. My reamer won't be here until December...or at least I hope. I'm trying to build this into a light gun and I'm afraid I'll be really close to the edge right now.
Bat B Dual Port, Bartlein 28" straight taper to 1" or .940, Bat Rings on Picatinny, Jewell BR trigger, NF Comp scope, and PR&T FClass Lowboy with 1"Decel. This is what I really want and I get the feeling by the time I put it together I'm going to be overweight. What do you all think about this? Under/Over? Ideas to save some weight? Don't really want to mess with the barrel contour to much.

I prefer the BAT B 1.530" for the Dasher in chromoly. The extra diameter adds some more rigidity and I have no problem making LG weight with a HV that tapers to .900 @ 30". I run 28" and less.

You wont have a problem making weight with that gun. Ditch the decel pad. Use a smooth slick pad like polished aluminum. You dont want a grippy pad on a bench gun. Its very easy to move the gun off target during recoil with a grippy pad.
