Base / ring sugestions

So I ordered an Leica 3 X15 today. My 700 mill spec 308 currently has a one in. VX lll 4.5x14 50mm
So now I need a combo for the 30 mm tube and 56 mm bell.
I realize there are a lot of options but I am on a budget after the scope purchase.

If you are on a budget get the Nightforce 20 MOA base for about $55-60 and Burris Sig Zee rings for another $50 or so. Then you are set!

lacajun,
Since you are on a budget, rather than the Nightforce base, you can go with an EGW 20 MOA base ($39) that will do the job nicely. The rings are your choice but the Burris Sig Zee (as stated by 22DASHER) may be your best bet on those. As to height, I just installed a Vortex 52 mm belled scope using Vortex 30mm Hi Rings and have a 5/16" clearance off the top of the barrel on a Savage Model 12 6mmBR. That was actually more than I expected and believe I could have gotten bye with Med or even Low ring height rings. I just measured the difference between a 52 mm and a 56 mm bell and the diff is roughly 3/16 of an inch. So depending on how your rifle is set up, you may be able to better figure out which rings to go with. I actually like the higher setting on mine as I no longer need a hard and uncomfortable cheek weld on the stock and is easier to shoot more of a free recoil style sighting through the scope.

great advice...thanks guys, I ordered the NF 20 moa base today. I like the ideal of going with high rings I know where your coming from about the cheek weld thing.
