Bart’s 80 Grn Dominator In 6BRA.

I started with a new 1-8 twist Krieger, but lacked any bullets, or powder, that it liked. I decided not to waste valuable range time hoping for a miracle.

I had several 1-12 twist Kriegers that had regular .060 throat BR chambers. These were good barrels that probably had 500 tp 600 rounds through them. I also have about 500 Barts 80 grn Bt’s.

So, I cut enough off of the chamber end to rechamber both with my 6BRA reamer with a .104, (by the print), throat. The reamer has a .272 neck, perfect for the Lapua Brass.

I just got in touch with Chris Mackey, who happens to have a new Bartlien 1-12 in HV profile, a check will be in the mail tomorrow.
So did you get that new barrel running?

Reviving an old thread but I'm shooting a poor mans rifle chambered in 6mm ARC. Savage 12 action with a Shilen prefit 1-12" twist with the spec free bore. Barts 80s in the lands with IMR 8208 is giving me 3250 fps and is shooting 1/2" groups quite well at 200 yards.
That's a really good combination in my 6 grendels too. It and the arc are too close to one another to argue over. I do like Lapua Grendel brass though, especially when I step on the gas. More info is coming out in thatcregard as people test other American brands. Sounding pretty good for some of it.
Ya might get a little more speed from a couple of different powders but overall, 8208 has been my favorite choice for consistently good accuracy in several bench rifles and bbls.

Anybody loaded the 80 gr Barts in a 1 in 8 twist barrel in a 6MM BR or a 6MM BRA?

If so, can you share your Powder, load and Velocity .

Thanks

Not his bullet specifically but otherwise yes. It'll shoot great just about anywhere between 3250 and 3400fps. 8208 has been my favorite overall powder. You can get a little more speed out of a couple others but 8208 has been consistently the best. Around 32.0 gr in a 6BR
