Barts 112s (.30) with LT30

After many years of Eubers in my 7000 round 30 br barrel they are about gone, maybe 100 left. Time for a change. So I bought a 1000 112s from Bart, and why make it easy, I am also trying to switching to LT30. The other day I load 3 each of 35.1, 35.4, and 35.7. I seated them with my die set as normal for the Eubers. When I went to the range the wind was intense. So I just sat down and shot the best I could the 3 three shot groups 35.7 was best but all 3 groups were terrible around .5. I did some measuring and figured out I was jumping about .60. I reset my die so I could see a mark, not quite square on the bullet and loaded to that mark. Using my normal 2 shot method I set up my normal 3 flags today and went at it. All groups measured after I came home. First 2 shots .043, quickly shot 2 mor and had the I'd flag reverse on my last shot and opened it up to .088. I seated the next pair .002 deeper, they shot .036. I quickly seated 2 more the same, they shot .045. That's is it, I am done until next week when I will shoot a 100 yd UBR target match of 24 shots for record. Just what I expected with these bullets but I was not sure about the powder. Now before I hear 5 shot groups, I could care less. If I am competitive at the match I will waste no more rounds shooting pretty groups. Thanks to the guys who have put out info on results with LT30, I read most of the info in the search function, it was a great help. Bart, thanks for good bullets.

I don'think its the bullets, are you going to stay with LT30, I hear Vih 130 might be a better choice.
H4198 is king if you are lucky enough to find it.
I am also on my last couple of hundred Hammonds 6mm 68 grain bullets. I am planning on transitioning both guns to LT 30. I bought severalmjugs of that right before the craziness. All old shooters should know to stock up before any Presidetial election.

LT30 is one of my favorite powders.

Funny you suggest that Jeff change powder when he’s shooting Zeros.

I shot this today at 200 yards (3 shots) with LT30 but in my 6PPC. A .041

Ok Bart. I have a new 12 twist ppc barrel sitting here. I need some 75 gr bullets with the emphases on a bc over 300. That would be the ticket past 300 yds. Good velocity yet and better bc. Maybe a slightly longer jacket. I think 80gr is to heavy for the case volume.

You might want to talk to Jackie Schmit he’s played with heavier bullets and 6PPC. I don’t have anything that can make what you’re looking for.
