For more than a year, my 600 yard shooting has "sucked". The reasons are numerous, including my health, my loads and my lack of shooting skill. I have been shooting both the 6 BRA and the Dasher and shot mid pack or worse with both.
Today we shot a 600 yard match at ~95 degrees with mirage and low wind velocity. I did not expect much from myself, but I did have some of Bart's 103 gr. Hammers to try. I loaded these like I have the Gungnir's in another barrel (.005 into the lands).
Since I have had some trouble with H4895, I switched to 30.4 gr. of 8208 XBR and a CCI 400 primer. This load with the Gungnirs shot good at 300, so I tried it today.
I don't know which one of these variables was more responsible, but my shooting was much better today. No, I did not win but I did place second and got back into the "190's" with a 191/5x score in some pretty nasty mirage. Scott Goodman shot a sterling 195/3x to win.
Thanks Bart for making great bullets and keep up the good work.
