Good to hear something positive about barrel lead times.Ordered a custom barrel less than 2 weeks ago and received the tracking number today.
WOW Was told it would be 3-4 months. Going to buy a lottery ticket.
I agree, they aren't getting any cheaper.I think that the cost is hurting the average shooter. They are opting out of new barrel purchases.
Really, a lot of hunters should be buying comp shooters take off barrels! Normally are great deals and will still outshoot factory barrels.I think that the cost is hurting the average shooter. They are opting out of new barrel purchases.
Likely depends more on what they're tooled up for and running at the momentI ordered a 30 cal sporter from bartlein in February and still haven't got it. Maybe ill need to call and ask about it.
Those hunters better have strong arms and shoulders! The bores are surely good enough but the profiles sound like hunting torture.Really, a lot of hunters should be buying comp shooters take off barrels! Normally are great deals and will still outshoot factory barrels.
That and the political environment isn’t promoting panic buying.I think that the cost is hurting the average shooter. They are opting out of new barrel purchases.
And what is the alternative purchase?I think that the cost is hurting the average shooter. They are opting out of new barrel purchases.
Amen.Just enjoy yourself while you can.
It takes time for a barrel like that, but worth the wait , IMO.This was for a 25 cal. HV 28 inch. gain twist.
Not an off the shelf order.
Must have ordered it as they were about to make a run of 25 cals.
Bartlein and Krieger are both quoting 4 months now.

Yep. Last year I was considering ordering a barrel just to have a spare. I did the math you did above. Bought myself a Tikka T3 for less than $800 out the door. It is a well made rifle that shoots very well.Remember barrel 450.00
chambering 300-400
approx 850.00
doesn't include wait time 3-6 months or more.
New rifle 800.oo-1200.00 factory or less,
