Barrel twist question

I have a good supply of Berger 155.5's , primers and 308 brass so I'm gonna rebarrel a 112 Savage to 308 . What would be the best twist rate for the 155's accuracy wise at 600 ? Have had a couple 40x Remingtons that were 12 twist and shot well . Just wondering if a little faster twist would be better.
Thanks Chris

I have had 10, 12, and 13 twist. They all shot the 155 class bullets well. The faster twist will give you the option of going to the heavier bullets if you want.

I have a Palma barrel with 13” twist, it is perfect for 155gr Palma bullets, it will still stabilise 180’s, but not all of them.
I still think a 12 twist is about perfect if you want to go heavier than 155’s.

Cheers.

I was thinking about the same .. 12 twist would be great for the 155 if your good supply was in the 1000's and you wanted to barrel and action specifically for them

I had a M70 Win in 308 with a 1:11" twist that shot Sierra 155gr Palma bullets extremely well at 200/300 yds. and also Berger 185gr VLD's at 600 yds. Varget and 210M's for both.
