Barrel twist and contour advice requested

I am planning on ordering a barrel and could use some advice.What barrel contour and twist would you recommend for a 6br-brx-dasher to be used in long range benchrest?

Heavy Varmint...

1.25" for 5" in length then it tapers to .900" or so....

Straight taper, most barrel makers have something similar......

Go with a heavy varmint 7.5 twist. Some 105 grain bullets will not stabilize in an 8 twist.

I run 3, 5, and 6 groove barrels. All shoot well, but my 3's are the best.

Depends on your weight restrictions...if you need help on weight get the heavy varmint otherwise get straight. I've had both and I like the looks of the straight better than heavy varmint.

On twist I've seen guys use from 7.5 - 8.5...the flat 8 being the most popular in my neck of the woods. I like the 8.5's.

I just picked up my new Dasher from Bostrom Gun
. The barrel is a Bartlein 31'' 1.250 for 5'' and tapers to 1.00.
When Erick chamber it From true at the breach. The muzzle had .0.007 of run out.
Breaking the barrel in and cleaning every 2 shots. and adjusting the tuner on 95% fire formed brass it showed promise. Went to the reloading and used my friends dies bullets and powder only change from his load I went wolf primers. First two touched in a figure 8 at 45 Degree Right. The next three two shots all were in .100. I feel any time you can shoot a total 20 shots with that results It shows promise.
