I just opened my barrel channel to accept a Krieger MTU which was previously a standard Rem. varmint contour. I can slide a .010" thick business card the length of the fore end. In your opinion, is this enough gap? I'm leery to remove any more wood for fear of weakening the ventilated/laminate fore end. Thanks for your input, Dale
