Barrel swap

I just got a 260 rem tube that I am putting on a savage mod. 110 long action. What troubles does anyone see in my future?

It will be about an inch shorter with the cut-off and rethread/rechamber (assuming there is enough meat for the new chamber area).

Pre threaded and chambered barrels for the Savage are available in a wide range of prices, you would be far better off getting a new barrel. It will go on much easier, no machine work and you don't know if maybe the barrel that is going on is shot out, many are loosing accuracy by 2000 rounds.

Something to think about.
