Barrel nut on custom action

Has anyone ever tried a barrel nut style setup on a custom action?
I really like the barrel nut setup but feel factory action leave a litte to be desired strength wise for long/heavy barrels.

:thumb:I have a heavy Krieger barrel on a Savage action with the barrel nut and a 8 inch finned barrel block. The barrel is over an inch at the muzzle and 30 inches long. Three years and no problems.

Ok not to be insulting but a barrel nut on a savage is a means to make prechambered barrels fit relatively close to correctly .

On custom actions, barrels are cut to fit exactly . I have never seen or expect to see a custom barrel on a custom action fitted with a barrel nut. In fact people desiring to do a really precision job of fitting a barrel to a savage action fit it without the Barrel Nut.
