Barrel nut for Rem 788

im looking at ideas on how to make one without a mill or a source for a useable one from something else. Preferably one that uses standard savage wrench
The 788 has 1"x20tpi tennon threads.
Any ideas?
I have one that's became a test mule since it doesn't have a dedicated purpose yet thought if I could come up with a barrel nut set up I could pass on barrels as I get bored with them and maybe help others love their 788's again lol.

Check mossberg ATR if it isn't that there is a factory rifle that uses a nut you can use , maybe Ruger . I've got a book here somewhere with my notes .
Believe it was ATR or MVP .

Great idea, not sure why more builders do not use this design.

MVP 5.56 is 7/8-28, the MVP 7.62 is reported to be the same as small shank Savage. Quite a few people have used Savage barrels/nuts/lugs on them.

It's MOSSBERGS ATR , at least the 30-06 s . 1" x20
I don't know why Mossberg went with so many tenon designs .
