Barrel makers

JC Customs in New Brunswick Canada
Very interesting. I had herd of them but after some research they are only 3 hrs from me. I have a 243 I want to re-barrel maybe I will take a ride there.

Ive got one in a 308 and will be getting a 30br barrel from him soon.

My local club has several bench guns with his barrels.

So some must be happy with them?

Hi Nez
And right beside them were some McMillan's. All us new guys were willing to trade anything we had for one of Pat's barrels. I traded TJ out of a 22. Got my single HOF point with that barrel. I never shot it again. Stupid thing to do. I still have that barrel somewhere around here.
We're fortunate to have many great barrel makers.

Bought a 30 cal McMillan barrel from TJ's estate. It was a hunting rifle taper and became a 300 Win Mag. Very accurate!

2 or 3 years ago I talked to the ABC guy. Offered a deposit, but he said it wasn't necessary. Still have no ABC barrel.
Have had nothing but great service from ABC....understandably I have had crap service by other vendors many consider excellent.

My first barrel from ABC has been the best I've ever had. Hope the two more I got last month are the same. About 6 weeks to get them delivered. It's a one man shop. Sometimes I think times may depend on what caliber of barrels he's working on at the time you order.

Mine has won a few things in F-TR. I don't shoot BR but I've heard that some of his 30 cal barrels are doing well there.

Once upon a time there were fewer choices and a competitor could ride a "good" barrel to many victories before it wore out. In the Benchrest community, we had Shilen, Hart, and McMillan. Now we have so many choices that one is perplexed in what to choose. I have shot many brands and most were excellent, but with my limited budget, I now choose those "major" makers who back up their product fully. I have shot the following: Bartlein, Hawk Hill, Krieger, McMillan, Hart, Shilen, Douglas, Rock Creek, Broughton, Lederer, Turbo, Brux, Lilja, and Pac Nor. Most have been great barrels, but there are a few that really stand out. Among those that have really performed for me on a "hummer basis" are a Krieger, a Bartlein, a Lederer, and a Brux. Some of the above listed barrels would probably make the list, but I wore them out before learning to shoot to their potential. Good shooting...James

The PNW Has a Barrel Maker ,that makes Winning Barrel and made some of His own Machinery .
This Guy is in the Portland Area. He is a Shooter as well and holds some NRA Records.
His Palma Barrels are as good as any ! and possibly Better ?

One small problem maybe two : No SS Barrels …… No Mail Service on installation. FF .

Some people my know of Him JB ??

I think you are talking about John Benjamin. I don't have his contact number though.
In the past,John has not sold just the barrel. You have to send him the receiver and he will build, install and test the barrel. If it doesn't perform as he expects, he puts on another barrel and repeats the process.

Another possibility is C.P. Donnely of Grants Pass, OR.
