Barrel dampening

Let's go for a ride. With all the tuners out there weather on the threaded end or a Sims type you can slide. How about a carbon fiber tube over the barrel filled with hydraulic fluid. aluminum adapters on the barrel with o rings or glued to dampen barrel harmonics.

Just for fun.
When with simple load development you can get a gun to shoot 5 shot groups below .100"

I'm not sure you would not be venturing into the realm of
"Point of diminished returns"
when it comes to cost vs return on investment to ....over-engineer a rifle barrel
---
In other words,
Yes we can do it, yes we can engineer it, yes we can dampen it
Many of our ideas are great in theory and are very innovative as well....
...we can even put an electronic device on it that monitors vibrations and cancels them out but
now the question is =
how much are you willing to pay for a barrel?
---
it's kind of like drag racing
we can make you go 8 seconds in the 1/4 for $100,000
but to go down to 7.90, will cost another $100,000
---
Most of us are happy to simply go 8 seconds and forget the additional 0.1 for the cost needed to do so
---
I mean hey, we can even build you a space shuttle if ya want, so
How much money ya got?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The whole goal and intention is to =
Hit your intended target right?
What if instead of making the perfect barrel , we focus on the goal
and instead, go the route of programmable smart bullets and cut to the chase

Not talking smart bullets. Just a topic to work the mind and to see what's been done. Your drag racing theory is fine except there are cars going 7.90 with known parts. A street car doing this is one thing. A good doorslammer or dragster is the easy button.

just an analogy my friend
like with racing, its just physics
you cant cheat physics but you can improve upon it
---
with barrels, you can't eliminate or stop barrel vibs,
which is why I suggested a hint at taking a different route, - the bullet
I believe there is so much more which can be done to improve the projectile

Improving on bullets is a real thing, and one of the reasons I branched into
experimenting with solids for BR. "BUT" !! Even working with varying designs,
you still will not get away from exit timing......My thoughts on this this is a bit
in the opposite direction. Instead of dampening by surrounding a barrel with
much softer material, use a material that rings like glass crystal. Increase the
speed of the harmonics.
