Barrel crowns

What is the major consensus on barrel crowns.....90 degrees, flat) or 11 degree taper ?? I'm putting together another rifle and wanted some input from all the folks here. What you think about a muzzle brake attached with any accuracy issues ??
Thanx for any input you may have.

I don't think it makes any difference. Some good smith's use an 11 deg. crown, others a flat crown. I use a recessed 90 degree crown simply because it's easier to cut, and I can't tell any difference in the performance of the barrel's.

Recessed, Counterbored, crowns allow for lathe work to be done with damaging existing crowns. I have tapered plugs with a shoulder that fits snugly in a counter bored muzzle. The back side of the plug is center drilled for a 60 degree live center.
The live center never touches the counter bored 11 degree crown.
This allows for other machining/polishing to be done on the barrel.
