Very nice, I use a rechargeable air mattress pump also. I just use a length of hose and stick it in the chamber . Cheap and works perfectly. Similar to this one.F901A378-9042-4583-ACE6-94CC9D96B126.png

This is the rechargeable air pump unit I use. I cut a small piece of clear tygon tubing from Home Depot/Lowes to bring the air into the chamber. I don't remember the specific tubing dimensions, but it works in both .223 Rem and .308 Win chambers. I also put a piece of string around the unit so it hangs at the correct height off the scope elevation turret while in use.

These types of air blowers certainly help the barrel cool down a little bit quicker than it would without one. However, they are not "magic". It still takes time for the barrel to cool. I find them most useful for cooling the barrel down when doing load development during the warmer months so as to minimize the waiting period between test strings.

Kinda neat piece I just got finished. It’s an air mattress pump 40psi. I took a couple sized .223 cases and put in my lathe and took of head off the case and inserted and glued. Makes a nice barrel cooler.
Great idea. I just replaced the reachargebale batter in my 25 year old coleman air matress pump. Now I am going to copy your coller and use it every outing.!

I actually used this cooler above yesterday as the line went cold and was down for 5 minutes or so and it really cooled down the barrel. I have a CLE match rifle .930 20" heavy barrel that I was bench shooting about 30 shots in so the barrel wasn't real hot to start with but it was warm to the touch and it was normal temperature to the touch in the short time the line was cold. For $30 it's a good investment I think.
