Barrel Cool Review

Practice day for a Mid-range event this weekend. Put up a very hot .308 barrel with Barrel Cool blowing for all it is worth while patching target. Five minutes later, barrel down to 'room temp' from screaming hot. I like it!
Ambient temp was just about 70º.

I bought one to use mainly for load testing. Instead of shooting loads 'round robin', which requires me to sight on 5-8 different targets up to 3-5 different times for the test (to best equalize barrel temps), I now shoot 5-8 foulers, run the Barrel Cool for 5 minutes, shoot all the loads in a test group at one target, run the BC for 5 minutes and repeat load groups until finished. This beings the barrel to the same approximate starting temp for each group.

At this time, we are only selling them @ www.barrelcool.com.

We are working with a few gun shops and dealers for them to stock it in their stores and eventually, we will most likely move towards the Midways, Sinclairs/Brownells of the industry.

Mine came in handy this last weekend. When shooting back-to-back strings from one distance to the next it cooled the barrel down completely by the time I brought the weapon to the line again.

Used mine this weekend when working up a load for a new BRX barrel. Would shoot 3-5 rounds and then run the Barrel Cool for 5 minutes and it would be warm to the touch instead of too hot to touch. Temps outside were 90+. Cant wait to use it at the next FClass match. This thing works great!

I had been using a small battery operated aquarium aerator to cool by barrels. They definitely helped but didn't put out much volume. I got my new Barrel Cool last week and all I can say is Wow! That really moves some air by comparison. Can't wait to use it. I am sure it will work much better.

Thx for that info! I've been using a battery op fish tank pump for several years and thought it has served me well up here in the High Desert of CA. But if the Barrel Cool pumps more air through, I'm getting me one.
