Barrel Contour

I am think about building a 22 Br with from a remington action. What Contour is best. I see some of the rifles and they look like the barrel is straight. In ordering a barrel what would I tell the barrel maker that I want. I would like to be abel to do some target shooting and varmit shooting as well. What would be a good stock for the rifle. In the rifles of the week what contour are most rifles. Thanks

IMHO, the biggest a SA rem with mag cutout can support is a #7. Bigger than that and the action can flex. Stocks are a personal choice, I like wood, but the HS style is hard to beat.

1.250 for 4" then straight taper to 890 at the 26" finish SHILEN

1.250 for 5" then straight taper to 875 at 26" finish KREIGER

I have found that the Krieger #10 MTU countour barrel works well with a Remington repeater action if bedded properly.
