Barrel break in on 700 BDL 30-06

I understand, and thank you for your service. If my butt depended on it standard Ar wouldn't be my choice either. They have as I understand come along way with Gas Impingement system. M 14 was a awesome firearm. I would love to own one. Thank you for all the knowledgeable feedback. Hunting Coyotes my life isn't on the line. I do not take in the dirt and grime a field soldier does and my AR functions flawlessly! Thanks again

In an AR use a Geissele, in a R700, use a Jewell unless you are dragging it into the desert and the mud, in which case the Jewell may be a little finicky and there are some other triggers that do the job well. Stock rem triggers can be made OK, but once you've shot a Jewell they feel like a stick with a notch.

XTR Thanks I have heard nothing but good about Giselle But I do poor man trigger jobs on ARS now with 3 lb. jp springs and I remove over travel. Krispy short trigger pull with full safety function and right to the point. Awesome, and cost pennies.

Valar- not sure what you are going to shoot but i like a mid weight bullet. 168 berger ( also like the 168 balistic tip) and 50.5 varget .030 off. out of my 700 mtn rifle ( 6lbs) you know when it goes off. i shot almost 2000 rounds of 175s/167s and imr 4895 out my garand one year , it is very heavy with a target barrel and glassed so it does not kick much at all. enjoy. roninflag

Thanks good to know as I have a supply of 4895 Bullets in 30 cal I have nosler bt 150s which would be decent for deer but so is my 308. but will need heavier round testing as well. Will post as things progress.
