Barnes 22 caliber 45 tsx

HAVE NOT USED THE 45GRSBULLETS BUT HAVE KILLED SEVERAL DEER WITH THE 50GR AND THE 55GR BARNES OUT OF MY 223 WHEN I TAKE A YOUTH HUNTING

Tried 'em in a .223WSSM back in the day, and they were sizzlin' over 4100fps. But they shot like hot garbage, so that was the end of that...

How's your .22-250 twisted? If it's a 1:12, I'd prolly step up to the 53TSX, and go from there...

It's a 14. I tried the 50s and got so so results. I'm hoping the 45s might group better. If not, I'll try something else.

i used them on hogs. went thru most of the time. ones I found were from 200 yrds plus and could have been shot again..22-250,14 twist at 4025fps

I killed a quite a few javelina in Arizona with a 22-250 using them. Exit wounds were the size of a ping pong ball:eek:

I've used the 45gr X, XLC and now the TSX, mostly in my Hornet, but also my 222RemMag.

In the Hornet, I get about 2,900fps with 13.0gr Lilgun and MOA. I use them mainly for coyotes, and they have increased the lethality of the Hornet on coyotes. The numbers of floppers and runners has been reduced by a lot.

I found the X and the XLC's to be difficult to find good accuracy with, but the TSX is very easy, in both the Hornet (Ruger M77 Sporter) and the 222RemMag (Sako L461).

I would not hesitate to use the 45gr TSX on medium size game, like deer and antelope, with the 222RemMag, within reasonable range.

mostly neck and head shots, anything does good there..body shots and they run 50 or so. killed a 275lb sow at 300 yards. Bullet went in font of one shoulder and almost exited the other. meat stuck in the tip, flattened a tiny bit.
that's why it traveled so far being so light. they slow down fast
