Bald Eagle Rest

I'm not a competitive BR shooter but I do a lot of load testing from the bench. A few years ago I sold my Caldwell Rock & bought a Bald Eagle. I've been happy with it & I'll be looking at making some of the mod's suggested in this thread. My only regret is that I got the cast-iron yoke instead of the aluminum. While more weight can be a good thing, I feel like the lighter model would have served me well since I mostly shoot hunting rifles. I assume the "Y" bases are interchangeable(?) Are there alternate sources for parts? Grizzly website says part "37 PBE1005037 SLINGSHOT BASE, ALUMINUM - N/A"

Here is my last modification. I replace the windage threaded rod that I cut off of the cable assembly with a piece of brass threaded rod. I ran a 5/16-24 tap through the thread in the OEM knob. I cut a 60 degree center in the end of the brass rod. I put a 3/8" diameter piece of brass rod in the end of the sliding plate and added a 1/4" ball between the threaded rod and the sliding plate.

Hmm. I have an aluminum Y rest. When I bought it from an online forum member they said it was cast iron, but after I ended up getting another one, I noticed that it was much lighter. I put a magnet to it, and it doesn’t stick… so I’m assuming it’s aluminum. But it had been months since I originally bought it, so I figured it was too late to get back with the seller.

Would you be interested in swapping bases?

Yes, PM sent.

I'm putting together a second front rest, using a spare Protektor wishbone. I have all the hardware except the mariner wheel, and have googled everywhere, but can't find that separate part available. Any source suggestions?
