Bad machining on rem700

They offer 2 different options on truing. 1 does recut the threads on the receiver. The other option does not, here's what is included with it:

• Single Stroke Diamond Honed ID receiver bore
• Reconditioned Receiver Lug Abutments
• Bolt nose resurfaced
• Bolt face resurfaced
• Bolt Lugs resurfaced

Im having that done, bolt knob installed and firing pin bushed.

I do not do many Remingtons now, but when I did, I always checked the lug contact, and if reasonable, did nothing to the Bolt Lugs or the action abutments. Removing metal in those areas can lead to other problems.

Also, I believe that it is important to true the threads and the action face, on the same setup. This insures that you are not placing the threaded joint in deflection when the barrel is torqued. Assuming that the barrel’s threads and shoulder are dead true with each other.
