Bad customer service

Is it just my bad luck or does everyone have horrible customer service now. I call X-products about a bad magazine that had received and was told to send it with return form printed from their website and it would be taken care of. Bought two for my FAL, one fit and ran perfect, the other have machining that was nothing like the other. The two were different even though both were same product. Bad one wouldn't even fit in receiver. I get a phone call today telling me they couldn't do anything because I didn't fill out online return form. Same form I printed. Then the excuse was I didn't buy it from them, no I bought it from a dealer representing their product. Then it was they don't have any of that product since it's not popular. One BS line after the other. I have a scope I've been waiting 6 month on a repair. I would like to see a thread on bad customer service so I don't by from these a$$ holes.

I have(had) an IOR 8x56 I sent in to have the elevation re centered (cousins took the adjusting screw out) and a cap retaining screw replaced. They sent it to the factory for a quote. I have not heard a word back. Going on a year.

I have built rifles with 2 of the most well regarded smiths on various forums, and while the rifles all shot excellent, the customer service from both was subpar. I even had to buy new parts on my dime to fix one the smith's eff up.

I attempted to have a custom stock made by a very well know maker. After a year and a half of having my metal and repeated calls he informed me he wouldn't be able to get the color blank I wanted for several months. He initially told me 6 months and after a year and a half hadn't even ordered wood. I'd just as soon get kicked in the jewels as deal with this any more. If I ran my business like this I'd be ruined, I don't know how they do it

I like everyone have had bad service from all types of businesses and would love to see them named on boards like this, however I have found most board owners don't want you naming names. Why I don't know, perhaps afraid of a lawsuit against the board owner?

I purchased a High End Leupold recently and it had a very minor issue straight out of the Box. I called Leupold. They sent me free return shipping stickers(by email). I live all the way on the East Coast and Leupold is all the way on the West coast. The scope went to Leupold and was repaired and returned to me in less the 10 Days.
Leupold Scope Customer Service is Outstanding!!! That's why All 25 of my scopes are Leupold,
(well maybe a NXS , or 2, or 3).

This is a bit off the subject, but if you want bad customer service, wait until your cell phone company bills you wrong. My experience has been that whatever is wrong is YOUR fault and if you don't like that explanation, that's YOUR problem. WoW.

Best CS;

Couple purchases here on classified,and Leupold turn around which was 10 days and we're in the Va. mnts.A scope got fogged up due to,"probably" a seal leak cause of my dumbassness(hunting in a driving snow storm,brought rig inside with snow/moisture on it....hey,it's a hunting tool).

Worst CS;

It's a tie,cable company charges AFTER we'd cancelled,sent all their chit back in THEIR supplied boxes....still got bills and threatening notification,3 months later,WTF?

The other is an insurance debacle.28 years ago,my twin boys were born,hit the floor...exactly,to the minute when our two insurance policies"overlapped".Meaning,wifey goes into hospital with two companies coverage.

It took two solid years of them,ALONG with the hospital (who hadn't been paid)...threatening to take us to court.For what?We had two policies,in hand....paid for.The twins,all grown up,both with PHD's.But it never was dull,haha.

I am retired 30 years in the manufacturing field and in that time dealt with many large global company's, Bosch, AC Delco, PPG etc. All of these company's start design and engineering one-two years prior to new product release so they can cover most all applications. The firearm industry is not that big. Most aftermarket makers have to design there product after the new item is released, so they can't possibly cover all the applications the product may be used in. With that said, at least one company I know of personally, the seemingly poor service and appearance of stalling, is they simply don't know. I'm talking in a ("why doesn't it fit") or ("will this work on my firearm") type of issue. And that's just the nature of the beast with the "first out on the shelves" and "get it while its hot sells the most", culture we are in. You know what I mean, 300 blackout 6.5 creedmore, I don't mean there new now, just the word is getting out and more people are hearing about it. There both hot now, but remember the 7mm STW in the late 90's when the major rifle manufactures started chambering for it? They sold a lot that first year, (I bought one) but today all are discontinued, hard even to find shells!
I have found most company's in the firearm industry are in this business because they like it or have found a niche they can exploit to make a little money, most are not in it to rip you off and disappear. Although some do turn up every now and then, and I know some legitimate company's have just plain old bad customer service.
So next time it doesn't fit and they say "let me call you back" they might be running out and buying your application and doing some quick design work.
Just my humble opinion.
