What powder you using ??80 gr Berger Flat Based Targ. / Varmints @ 3,200 fps shoot Great, in my 6 XC, 1-7.5 Twist, 24" barrel.
For the 80's, ( #1515 Sierra or, the 80 gr. FB Bergers ) I'm using, 41.3 grs of, IMR 4350, CCI lge prs, Bullets at, .025 "Off Jam". Nosler, Sierra and Hogdon All Have, Data. What powder you using ??
Started .020 in to .015 out . Shot the best with .005 out. That is for the 67 gr PRP bullets .I bet if you used some N135 you wouldn’t feel near as old!
What did you do for a seating depth test?
The 90 grain Berger with 31 grains will awaken the beast! If this is an 8 twist barrel. Maybe a 12 twist with the 66-68 (or a 12 tw with 80 grainers!) grain bullets.I'd try heavier bullets with that particular barrel
Art if you can take a press to the range in order to change your Seating Depth that's half the battle of finding a good load. If you can't take take a press to the range to change your seating depth, preload and adjust the seating depth before going to the range. My 90gr bergers are +.006 into the lands. But I testedI don't have the money to change the barrel just to get a different twist I retired 25 years ago and inflation is eating me up if the barrel was bad that is a different thing . I just loaded some 90 gr Bergers +.012 . Wish I had the equipment to load at the range it is 20 miles from me .
