Back Surgery #2 Update

I wanted to give a quick update before this gets buried down the line.
First of all I cannot say thanks enough or begin to share my gratitude for all of the well wishes, phone calls, texts and emails I’ve received. I do not want to embarrass any members so I will not say there name but we’ve even had members from here and local shooting community come by the house and check on me and drop off food, snacks, magazines etc… and countless others that have made those same offers of just say what and when and they’ll be here to do it. The generosity has been overwhelming. I do not come from a big family but my wife does and she keeps saying it’s my big shooting family and for that I want to say thanks and I hope I can return the favor one day!
I am improving every day. I am still walking slow and it’s painful but I’m up to 2.5 miles per day. The mornings seem to be more of a struggle to get loose but once I do if I keep moving every 45 minutes to an hour I stay pretty well loose. The most I’ve walked at one time was 3/4 of a mile. I was in a lot of pain at the end but felt a sense of accomplishment as well. I seem to have a little nerve damage in my leg and foot, when my clothes touch it I get a burning sensation like it’s sunburned. The doctors office said this was pretty normal and could take weeks or months to clear up. I am starting to limber up slightly. It felt like my spider gears were all welded together for a while. I was able to put my own socks on but I had to get a little creative. My back hurt at the surgical area but I did not have the shooting leg pains like before. I hope some of this may be useful information for those who may go through this same procedure one day. It’s not meant to be a blog post or whatever just maybe some useful information.

Very happy to hear you are doing good with the healing process. You are the kind of person people will always want to help if possible. Thank you for being the best builder on the planet. Can't wait to hear you are completely well and 100% back to normal.

Do not over due it for sure. That will be the hardest thing to do, is that letting the time for healing. Time is on your side and you only have one back. The shooting community is a great bunch of folks. We have never met as of yet Zach, but the high praises that I have heard from others has been very positive. Take your time and don't let it get you down in any way. Healing can be a long process, but you have a whole community is pulling for you.
