B&L YU1459 assistance needed

A friend of mine inherited an older 22-250 built on what appears to be a Mauser action. The rifle has an older B&L scope that "appears" to have some degree of external adjustment. Does anyone have any experience with this particular scope? Any assistance would be very much appreciated.
Thank you
Michael

I found a similar pic online that would suggest that it may be a Balvar. 6x24. Still would like to find someone with owner/operator instructions.
Thank you

Can't help you with a manual but when I was a young guy the rich guys had them on their small bore position rifles and ground hog rifles. The small bore rifle was most often a Whinchester 52, the varmint rifle was surplus Maurer action usually with a Douglass barrel and double set triggers in 22 250 .I remember thinking how I would like to have one. That was back in the 60s.

It is a very cool scope, and looks good on a rifle from a similar period. That's why I am hoping to find someone who could help us understand how to operate it correctly. Hopefully it will adjust properly and hold zero so he can keep it on.
Thank you for the reply, Sir.

Michael,

I owned a Balvar 24 from early 1962 to late 1969 (still sorry I let it go - sigh). It was on several rifles but mostly on my first Remington 700 (a .222). In those days, for travel to matches, we tended to remove scopes with external adjustments to better protect the scope and mounts. The Balvar 24 and its unique system with separate protected zero adjustments and condition adjustments permitted removal and remounting without loss of zero. I found that I could leave the scope mounted for local travel if I used a hard case with the foam cut to clear the scope.
