Ok. Dave, you came in looking for advice on a gun build. Guys have given you advice and politely helped or tried to help. You come across as a very disrespectful individual! All that they are trying to do is help. If you can’t see that how will you hit a 36” target if you are so blind? Buy the $4550 gun from the place you had original posted about and carry on. Best advice is free advice. You opened up a post and talked in circles since your first thread. Gun through mud, saltwater etc but yet 1/4 moa! Be real with yourself, IT ISN’T HAPPENING!Well have no fear, Headseeker is here! I aint goin anywhere SP unless mr.chief moderator sends my a$$ pack'n
Let the young'n correct you a lil if ya don't mind mister. They do not guarentee .25 moa. They guarentee .25 moa or better as posted on their website.
Maybe- No you were wrong WADR. Just being blunt so don't beat me up for it.
As for as your opinion on Tacops building the best tactical platform available, your not far off trust me. Mike @ Tacops and Mike at TBA are the only companies guarenteeing .25 moa or better.
My research for the perfect tactical rifle ended about a week ago when Mike @ Tacops referred me to Mike @ TBA. I was looking for the closest thing to an actual USMC M40A3 I could find. The only thing that doesn't make it an actual USMC M403 is the fact that the USMC builds their own. Mike Lau @ TBA is building it exactly the same in exception of one minor difference, "which I believe is 1 bolt screw" but it has to do with the USMC wanting to be able to switch the stock out in the field quickly if need be.
This is what I am getting.

As soon as Mike gets done with the stock it's being sent out to have a Birdsong finish on it. Here is a picture below of a Birdsong finish @ the tacops site showing what the finish looks like since Birdsong doesn't have a website.

Now to answer some of your questions. There’s all kinds of Smith’s that could steer you in the right direction. Advice would be stay polite and be respectful to there answers because the good ones don’t need your business. Don’t get hung up on one brand of x,y or z. Kreiger makes great barrels. As do Brux, Bartlien, muller etc. all of these places have stand up guys n gals present to steer you in the right direction if you are polite and respectful. They don’t need your business as there are plenty of other shooters who count on buying more of there product. Action wise there is the trickiest part. Surgeon is one of the tops but kelblys atlas, Stiller, defiance, Borden etc are also top notch talk to these places and get direct feedback they will steer you in the right direction if you are polite and respectful. As far as stocks there’s is manners and McMillan JAE etc. Talk to them and they will steer you in the right direction if you are polite and respectful.
Also another thing I’d suggest is to go to the type of competitions and matches you want to participate in and talk with fellow competitors. If you are polite and respectful they will most likely let you shoot with their gear and offer more options and advice than can be absorbed.
Lastly please don’t get offended by any of this. I myself just love guns and shooting. If i were rich and could do it I’d shoot every discipline out there. The best advice I can give is to be polite and respectful and ask around. People in shooting sports are some of the best people you could ever meet.
Enjoy your fellow shooters and good luck on your build. Please keep us posted on how it comes along.
Lmao!!!! I just noticed this post was way old. I got a little worked up halfway through page 3 and had to post. Oh well
