AZ extends stat at home order

My brother is a Founding Father of Lake Havasu .He called last Sunday and said "the Cal. Trucks Pulling Boats where lined up for blocks at the Boat Ramp " ??

Just recently got work that the Jose Foss Shooting Complex south of Buckeye AZ is opening this weekend. But one can't just show up. "Persons who do not have a pre-paid reservation will not be able to use the range", so one much go to their website to make a reservation. Whew! Well . . . at least I'll finally be able to get out to shoot. :) I'm tired for playing golf. ;)

Am very surprised the Ben Avery ranges aren't open in the same way???

Yep. I'll be there at 9:30 Sat.

Ummmm, isn't that Joe Foss at Buckeye? I know Joe was the leading Marine Corps ace fighter pilot in the Pacific, a Medal of Honor winner, and a governor of South Dakota. I met him before he died, when he was the guest of honor at the friends of NRA banquet at Casa Grande back in 1998 or 99. He was a former president of NRA, and a big shooting sports supporter in Arizona, so I think they named the new range after him, didn't they?

Frankly, I'm not absolutely sure, but from what little I've heard, I think you're right. And yes, that Jose Foss is at Buckeye (actually the range is about 10 miles south of Buckeye).

Went to Joe Foss Sat. Mostly normal except every other bench is used. ROs clean up bench & target stands after you shoot. Got an email yesterday they changed the times to 7:30 to 10:20 & 10:40 to 1:30. Still have to pre pay .
JOE FOSS SHOOTING COMPLEX
RE-OPENED TO THE PUBLIC
last FRIDAY, MAY 1st
Details for making Range RESERVATIONS for this Fri., Sat., & Sun., May 8-9-10

May 4, 2020 UPDATE
The Joe Foss Shooting Complex re-opened to the Public last Friday, May 1st. Our thanks to those patrons who came out and expressed their support and appreciation, and to our JFR Volunteers who made it all possible!

Changes to the Reservation process.
Based on our experience from last weekend we have made the following changes for this coming weekend:
  • There will now be just two time slots: 7:30 to 10:20 AM, and 10:40 AM to 1:30 PM.
  • Also, we are now accepting debit/credit card payment (no cash, please) at the range for items purchased in the Retail Store (e.g., targets, eye and ear protection, scope, lead sled rental, etc.) Alternatively, you can still pre-pay for these items in the Shopping Cart and pick them up at the Retail Store when you arrive at the range.
  • Before making your reservation please read the 'MAKING YOUR RESERVATION - FILLING OUT THE RESERVATION INFORMATION' section in the Shopping Cart.
Do not come to the range without a pre-paid reservation. If you do not have a pre-paid reservation you will not be able to use the range.

Please visit ASRPA Joe Foss Range to make your reservation.

ASRPA Joe Foss Range or Maricopa County Parks and Recreation have complete up-to-date information about the range.
