AutoTrickler V4

Well, you guys who have one, go ahead and try this...

Take a cordless phone, not a cell phone, just a regular cordless phone, and call someone. While you are talking try weighing something, the same thing, over and over and each time with the phone in a different place relative to the scale. 2 inches away, a foot away, on the left, on the right, above it.

If it reads the same every time then scratch that off. At least for the phone frequency you are on.

Then try the same thing with your cell phone while you are talking with someone so its transmitting. If it reads the same every time, then scratch that off. You're solid.

Like I said, it could be the unit is shielded somehow, but it's easy for you to go test for yourself. But please don't defend the point if you have not actually tested for it.

The Sartorius I tested went nuts when I did this test but that was several years ago and technology has a way of changing these days.

Well if using one for two years with no issues with a cell phone doesn't count as testing, then nothing does..........

Sniff sniff.. Yup.

This comment smells like bias.

Never noticed is not the same thing as actually testing for it, watching for it and actually trying to detect a fault.

V4 Beta tester here also and had the V3 as well. I have had my FX120I for 3 years almost now and I haven’t run into issues with my phone being around it.

I have had phone right next to it for calls on speaker phone, text, and have also played YouTube videos off of my WiFi. Also, put my cal weight on it to see if it had any variance during calls and watching YouTube, I had none. ‍

The only thing I’ve ran into with the FX120I is it will drift if it doesn’t warm up for an hour or so, but the unit does have auto drift compensation built into it, so not a big deal.

I work in SatCom RF for a living nowadays and I haven’t experienced any cross talk/interference with my phones frequencies messing with the units internal RF.

I am describing what actually worked and what helped me to shoot small groups at 1000 yds in competition. I turned on the Sartorius, zeroed it, brought the phone to it, and it stayed zeroed. The scale would only start drifting when I started using the V3.

If anything, the electrical field created by the V3 motors caused drift. I didn't drift when I used the scale without the V3 but WITH my phone close by.

I tested just about every supposed "solution" to stop that .010 grain drift. Magnets on the power cord, anti-static mat, etc. The only thing that worked was not using the V3 and obviously keeping HVAC vents covered. All of that testing was validated in the two years I used the V3 with the Sartorius.

Testing doesn't answer the question completely, it's takes a lot of actual use, which I did.

Oh yeah, the scale has the same issues when I used it with the V2, which had no phone app. Regardless of whether I had my phone close or not......

My ship date was Dec 3rd, based on the snap shot I posted above I figured I’d be in the January date myself.
