In the wake of recent tragic events here in Australia, many of us in the shooting and hunting community are concerned about the government's proposed gun reforms.

As law-abiding owners, we believe these changes unfairly target responsible citizens and erode our freedoms. We are "digging our heels in" to ensure no more ground is lost. We’ve launched a petition to protect the balance of our current laws, and we are looking for as many signatures as possible to make our voices heard.

Any help in spreading the word is greatly appreciated. We must take a stand for our rights in the Western world.

I feel for you, I really do. But the only way you will get relief is to change those governing you. The founding fathers of the US knew that and provided for it.

I will sign, but with a caveat. I often hear people from outside the US say "Well you have the 2nd Amendment" and that might in thier mind be positive or negative. I would remind everyone who says that to recognize EVERYONE has inalienable rights. They are God given and when they fully recognize that, they will throw off the tyranny they live with.

I would remind everyone who says that to recognize EVERYONE has inalienable rights. They are God given and when they fully recognize that, they will throw off the tyranny they live with.

No these rights are NOT guaranteed to EVERYONE! Not by a country mile. They are only guaranteed to Americans because it is in OUR Constitution and no other constitution, that I know of, has such a provision. Were it not for our WRITTEN 2nd Amendment we would have lost our ability to privately own firearms a long, long time ago, but the hounds are constantly biting at our heels. They want us unarmed and vulnerable so we submit to whatever demands they place on us. This isn't rocket science and our enemies will use whatever means they can to remove your and my right to keep and bear arms. Right now APATHY is our greatest threat. We MUST vote when called upon to retain all of our 2nd Amendment protections. Contrary to what some may think, mid-term elections are just as important as full term elections. We gain in full term elections and then we lose in mid-terms because people think they aren't important. They ARE important.......VOTE in all elections and know who you are voting for and what their platforms are. And remember, a Zebra doesn't change its stripes, but politicians will if they think it will help them get elected!!!!!

There will be Federal laws and state laws… Just as it is now…
Many now are trying to initiate a universal federal regulation that will stand in all states and the target seems to be the draconian laws that so recently have been enacted in Western Australia the put a specific limit on the number of firearms that you may possess and limits on the calibre and kinetic energy as well as limits on the amount of ammunition in possession or able to buy in a specific amount of time.
Truly dark times ahead for the shooting community in Australia as the “Polies” rush to enact laws that “Will make society safer…”
No one wants to admit that the shooters had previously been denied a “Shooters Licence” but months later that was issued despite earlier reasons for denial were ignored.
The mentality is “pass a law, show the public that WE are on your side in this emotive situation…”

So don't sign it unless you're actually a resident of New South Wales. Finally, what Australians need help with is not a signing some petition, it's with their voting habits. Change those, and the need for signing a petition goes away. Best of luck with your efforts.

I didn't check the box because I am clearly NOT a resident of NSW and it didn't tell me go away...maybe my signature didn't go, but I signed...

Didn't say they were guaranteed. I said they have their origin in the Creator...they are bestowed as part of our nature, and are every human's right. For this reason to Take or to infringe upon them is a sin. And those infringed upon, while exercising patience and forebearance (see Declaration of Independance for a well written argument) the infringed upon is under no obligation to live in servitude to tyranny and, upon reaching the full forebearance, has not only the right, but the obligation to throw it off. Having done so, our founding Fathers then wrote the Constitution to preserve what they had already done. The written instrument is a record and a law. It can be violated. But in principle, an inalienable right is not bound by or limited to the amendment or the constitution itself. The Amendment simply enumerates the right that pre-exists it.

The guarantee is paid for in the blood of those that would defend it against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

This principle is NOT limited to those who "have the 2nd Amendment" . It is universal, if they would only fight for it.
