I trying to put together a group buy through CDI for a detachable box magazine bottom metal. CDI makes bottom metal for Savages, Winchester, and Howa. The bottom metal accepts AICS mags. He needs 15 pre-orders so he wont loose money making the set up perfect. CDI bottom metal for other manufactures is about $200. PM me or reply to this thread if interested. another benefit of switching to an AICS mag would be being able to load your rounds with a longer OAL. I shoot a 6.5x47 in my Sako and I am not able to reach the lands in the standard mag. I was told, "Un modded 308 mags oal is about 2.830 or so. Take out the reinforcement strip and go to 2.950". Not only would this allow me to reach the lands, it would allow me jam the 123 Scenars into the lands. I really hope more are interested in this project.
