AtOne stock questions

Looking at a rifle that is offered with an AtOne stock.

Just curious if some members have owned one and what they think of it?

Pros, Cons, wishes?

Thanks for looking.

I personally wouldn't use one for anything. The barrel channel wood was extremely thin and the adjustable length of pull is set up for a 10 year old and VERY unstable in my opinion. Very lacking design in my opinion. If it's a rifle with any kind of recoil it will collapse under recoil. It lasted two range sessions and went on the burn pile.

I have one on a 6x45 w/ a 24" barrel, and it's "ok" IMO, nothing special. All of the edges of the stock are a sharp edge to some extent, not rounded like most and more plastic/ABS than your normal stock. Rides a BE front rest with Protektor bag ok, but will torque around depending on the caliber.

it's decent, but you can do better. It is a good stock when paired
up for a youth for a hunting rim fire. Butt stock adjustments are easy
and quick but a bit sloppy as they are extended and locked.

Agree with the above on the sharp edges, especially near the pistol grip. Sanded down to more of a radius on mine, bought the flat forend and modified the butt system. Used it in a 28 Nosler and it held up on two hunting trips and limited range time. It's now an orphan sitting in the gun room. Having said that, wouldn't buy another.

Does all this negativity apply to all Boyd’s stocks in general, or just this model?

I put one on my daughter's 7X57 Mauser build.
Her and my wife ordered it.
Note, my daughter is 6'3" with a 31" bow draw.
The plastic pieces that come on it are rather narrow and sharp edged.
Wife ordered the optional plastic pieces that are much better!
But then again, they are extras that you need to pay for.

There is someone who makes a 3" flat front and flat bag rider rear plastic.

Not impressed with the one on my CZ457. With a rail and med 30mm rings, a 50mm objective is 3/4" above the barrel, and now, without the rail, can't get scope far enough ahead. Cheekpiece didn't get high enough with rail on, buttplate doesn't extend far enough for me, and it is a bit rickety. But, those are things you don't know about, til you try it for yourself. I bought it online, because it was adj, but, little did I know. Contemplating changing to an MDT Field or XRS.
