ATF learned how to do tax stamps quickly

I almost fell out of my chair. I applied for a tax stamp for a new suppressor electronically on Monday.
I got approved today (2 days). Since when is the government this quick? I am betting sales will be going up

They are Preparing for government shutdown. Clearing all backlog... this has to be done before they shutdown, I think.

Did you apply as an individual as the owner or a trust? I have heard the individual ones are going thru the same process/background check, as the basic ATF form 4473.

The process can literally be done in 5 minutes. Ive done 8 with trust and individual this past year and the average has been 5 months... all electronic.

I am curious if we see all e filed Form 4s approved quickly going forward. My last e filed Form 4 from transferring out a can took 8 months. I'll be curious to see if it is all NFA items are only certain ones, i.e. cans fast tracked but MGs not.

In the past month my shop has got approval for 10+ suppressors in less than 25 days average. Then the eforms site went down for 3 days. Have submitted 3 more since then waiting to see how long they take. Trust's are still at snail speed.

Only matters how long to receive the stamp. Would help if they had a database that linked past approvals with new submissions, than it would be a call in at time of purchase, stamp in the mail.

As crappy and ridiculous the process is. Owning a suppressor is something I wish I had done years ago. They are a game changer.

With the arguments in the stabilizing brace case before the supreme court, the ATF is basing arguments on laws that if the Bruen decision is applied to, would no longer apply. Then there is the argument about it being an unconstitutional tax.
The bump stock case is also bringing up bigger questions about the power of the executive branch. Basically Congress has refused to do it's job for years, so the Exec branch has stepped in and written laws under the interpretation clause, that is all being called into question.

I could see ATF dropping their case and appeasing the pistol braces to save the NFA if it starts going down that path.

It's not that the ATF is working more efficiently or wish to provide better service, it's that they need to generate more revenue, faster!!!
