It's basically the ATF admitting the DOJ has been weaponized against law abiding citizens. And of course, the ATF is part of the DOJ.

Braces are back according to the new directive, yet some ATF branches have been accepting the brace but calling it an SBR and making arrests. They don't care if the owner cannot be found guilty, as long as they can bankrupt him/her in court. There are some agents that make criminals where they do not exist. One case in north Florida the agent told the suspects son he knew he could make charges stick but was going ahead anyway to monetarily punish the father.

Some of the citations were just plain chickenshit. A lot of the inspectors couldn't make it in the mining industry, so they went to work for the government.

I thought I voted for representation(sworn to uphold and protect my constitutional rights) to regulate and protect me. Not some dept bureaucrat/employees whose political beliefs don't align with the constitution. Elected officials need to do their job, not pawn off decisions(rules and regulations) to avoid losing constituents votes.

As gun owners we all should be motivated to submit supportive comments. Pass the information to all fellow shooters.

There WILL be other groups clamoring to submit negative comments and shut those rule changes down. You can bet on it.

My understanding is some of their rules, ie braces and FRT triggers, were maintained on the books contrary to previous court rulings. The new director is going to abide by the law and not by internal policy. So I don't believe public input will have any influence or require 90 day delay

Don't trust this hoopla.

The core conflict is that the ATF has a long history of interpreting things on a case-by-case basis, and at times those interpretations function like new rules. When that happens, it can look like the agency is acting unilaterally in ways that conflict with U.S. Code.

THE ATF WILL NEVER BE PRO 2A. Please know this.

They can amend policy all they want, but if interpretation and enforcement aren’t consistent, it puts people in a position where they’re trying to follow rules that don’t always feel clearly defined. And this happens time and time again.

ATF reminds me of an ex girlfriend who says she wants Olive Garden and when we pull up to the parking lot, now she's changed her mind and want's Texas Roadhouse. That’s the frustration people have when interpretations change and start feeling like moving targets instead of clear rules.
