Ask Seller a Question on Gunbroker

I have asked several sellers questions on Gunbroker and received my question back as a response. Are they telling me to get lost or what? Many do not answer at all. Is there some protocol I am missing?

I don't do a great amount of business on GB. I have asked the occasional question, never had that experience.
If I really thought I wanted the item, I might submit the question a second time. Most likely, I'd move on.
If they responded by replying with your question, they definitely received the message.
Pretty lousy service before the sale...might be telling of service after the sale.

are you sure that the "response" is not the question being sent to you, by you? pretty sure you have to uncheck a box to not get a copy of the question sent to your own email.

on the message page there is an option to have a copy sent to you. My experience with GB is 50% of my questions are unanswered. Red flag for me.

Some of the sellers have hundreds of items and receive hundreds of questions. Include your phone number for a call back. Otherwise post the item here so we can pester him with stupid questions.
Personally I have received a response from most of my questions.

As noted above, you may be sending the question to yourself. I get those.

I've gotten a few items there. All mine have been good experiences.

I have found that all the Sellers on GB with which I have done business have been very friendly and informative. If I am interested in an item, I will usually send a message and follow up with Phone call(s), as needed. I have always found the Sellers willing to answer any questions I have had about an item. That has worked for me.

I've bought and sold allot on Gunbroker. I've received probably a 95% response rate to questions I've asked, sometimes it took a couple of days though. I've also been asked questions 3 or 4 hours or less before the auction ends, which I usually don't see till after the auction is over. Uncheck the box that sends you your own question and give the seller enough lead time to answer it. Hope that helps.
