Are there any decent low cost rear bags (benchrest)?

@Dud nobody's judging you, might be pulling your leg a bit but not judging.
I shoot off a bald eagle front with protector bags.
I like the bag on the left over the rabbit ears.

interesting.... i did not know that design 'existed' in their lineup. i need to try one.

Used bags are hard to find, I,m looking for a large big ol bag for benchrest with narrow spacing. A few weeks ago someone gave one away. I was 5 min late lol.

I know. I really don't care that I spend too much on rifles I shoot too infrequently and then try to save money on bullets, powder and accessories with my choice of caliber and bargain hunting.

Is it the best way to go? Maybe not, but it's the way I like to do it.

You're in good company my friend, I think many, if not most of us here, have been down that road as well :D. Personally I was way into T/C's among other things and while I loved playing with all the wildcats and different rounds to load for, I got way over extended with too many barrels and other projects to fund them all adequately. After a big downsizing, it made things a lot simpler and freed up the funds to focus on a few projects I really wanted to do rather than jumping on every good deal that popped up.

I think I'm pretty much past that, I only have a few interests I'm pursuing in guns.

I'm wrapping up a few projects, I have a few on the back burner that I'm not spending money on and just one project looking forward (the 338 which needs a barrel and optics).

I have a 6.5 Creedmoor that I'm not quite done dialing in, some AR stuff I need to get to the range, my 284 which is nearing completion and my 338 still in planning.

It has been said that the ideal number of guns is one more but I'm at the point that I have pretty much everything I want (within reason) and enough back burner projects to satisfy my need to tinker for a few years at least.

Luckily I never developed a taste for $$$ shotguns or Safari style double rifles. Just handguns, some military surplus, ARs and some "home made" accurate bolt action rifles. There are no glaring holes in my collection (in my opinion) and not many people would ask "why don't you have any more?".

I have to say it's a pretty good feeling when I look at a nice rifle, admire it, but have no desire to spend money adding it to my collection.

My mountain isn't as high as others but I'm getting close to the top.
