Are Case Prep Centers Worth It?

I use a small Lyman hand crank for chamfering and deburring case mouths and primer pockets. I never thought to upgrade it because I dont shoot that much rifle compared to handgun. So I really dont trim brass that often. This thing does work pretty well. That little hand crank system is called the Case care system. I think I paid 25 bucks for it. I see now they are over 50. Thats insane.
And even though I dont trim much Iike the nut I am I have 3 trimmers. A Lyman, a RCBS power trim and a Wilson. Yes I am obsessed.

I have the Hornady case prep unit with the trimmer built in. Bought it used and sent it to Hornady to align the spindle under their lifetime warranty. $30 shipping and it works like a new unit. I think these units are now over $500 new.

I was using 2 battery operated drills before this to chamfer, deburr, ream out the primer pocket crimp and uniform the PP. The case prep holds 6 tools and I'm able to use 2 hands to hold the case and align it while pushing it into the tool.

I have the Lyman case prep. I use lee case gauges with the Lyman for trimming and they are consistent. The unit is quiet compared to some others and works well for me. It reasonably priced too. Ive used Forster, Redding, Wilson, and RCBS trimmers in the past

I don’t have one yet but it looks like this FA one can be used on its side as well as being upright. I think that would be very handy to work with coming in from the side like that.

I didn’t mean mean that spot. I meant the unit can be used upright and horizontal.
By the way, I noticed MidwayUSA has this unit for $105.

I have the FA prep center and trimmer. I love it , once you get it setup.
