RCBS Universal Case Prep Centre

Has anyone got any user feedback on the RCBS Universal case prep centre? I am considering getting one for high-speed reloading yet still wish to maintain reasonable precision eg around 0.001”+/- case trim lengths, consistent chamfering - I’d fit the 3 way cutter to the power trimmer.

I have used one for a number of years and would say it's just ok, most likely not the percision your after

I have and prefer the Lyman case prep center and I trim with a Possum Hollow trimmer.

Look up some reviews on the RCBS , for awhile they had switch problems... I went with the Lyman case prep station also and absolutely would not go back to doing it by hand...I will admit I use it mainly for .223 for the AR platform but do use it for other cartridges also... Either way you go once you get it down , you won't be disappointed.... I think if I was doing brass for extream accuracy I may still do those by hand but in the end probably not... A real hand saver for doing large lots....

I have the Lyman Prep Center. I originally used it for chamfering/deburring, and it worked just fine for that purpose with a little practice. I eventually bought a Giraud trimmer and now use the Lyman solely for the spinning brushes. The are certainly better options for chamfering brass out there, but the prep centers will work ok for many applications and are a relatively convenient and not too expensive way to consolidate a chamfer setup for more than one caliber all in the same unit.

I've used the RCBS Universal Case Prep Center for several years now, and had Inline Fabrication make a custom plate for use in the Quick Change system. Trimming produces more consistent results than I was able to get with an early WFT. The micrometer dial allows for setting different case trim lengths, a feature I've found useful on a few occasions. It's relatively quick to chuck a case in for trimming and provides a bit of overlap between trimming and the other case prep steps. It saved my hands which were severely tested using the WFT.

I have one and have used it and the power trimmer for a couple of years. It is ok for deburring, chamfering and brushing. I also use it to clean primer pockets. The power trimmer is ok but I have to measure to make sure all brass is trimmed the same. For some reason, sometimes a piece will not trim the same. I mentally time the chamfering and deburring. The more you do, the more consistent you get.

My next purchase will likely be a Giraud so that I can consistently trim chamfer and debur in one step.
