Are all Rem 700 actions the same?

Joe Salt, thread locker is a darn far piece from cross threaded! Have you ever taken the barrels off of any of those five 721s you claim to have? If you do, take them to someone who knows how to set them up and check the action face for squareness to the bolt race.

Exactly what surface in the action does, (or should) start extraction on the beginning of bolt lift? Where is the ramp that starts forcing the bolt back - it is impossible. There is no ramped surface until you get to the top of the bolt lift.

There is no surface - saying in your "opinion", it "should" does not mean it was designed to. Just where is this defective ramped surface?
CATSHOOTER, I never said at the beginning of the bolt lift, you did. The ramp on my bolt never touches the ramp on the back of my action on either gun. My bolt handle is about .040" too far back. This ramp and extraction is part of the design!

If you say "primary extraction" that means there is a secondary extraction - otherwise there is plain ol' "extraction"...

The only extraction the Rem 700 has is that small ~0.2" angled bit in the top corner of the bolt handle cut out - all of mine (and I have a lot of them) hit their mark just fine.

Eddie never done any of that stuff, all have been done by Smith's that do know what they're doing! Me on the other hand I shoot. Wouldn't know what you call all the stuff. I know if Lug's are galled, but thats about it. Did I mention I know how to shoot? ;) I pay for all the other stuff.

Rewinder,
The late model SPS that I just removed the barrel on had a white gooey something on the threads. It ain't the bluing salts as I know what they are.

Remington doesn't use thread locker. Its just the bluing salts leaked into the joint. Randy
That stuff is put there to keep bluing salts out of that connection. Get bluing salts in a connection like that and they'll "creep out' at ya', over time. If it is 'thread locker', it's not very good.
