Yes , I think it's best to start with Hornady data first then SLOWLY work up with Sierra's load . Even then I've noticed Hornady has a hot load in the mix of their published data every now and then .
Yup , the hornady manual is not as hot as the Sierra... But do to different bearing surface's in different bullets I use whatever manual for the bullet I am using.. Hornady for Hornady , etc... Plus consult 2 other manuals before loading..Some don't and as long as you work up you should be ok... One time I was useing a different manual for a different bullet and started in the middle of the charge scale , becouse I have found the starting charge to be way to slow... In this one case starting in the middle or one over middle the speed was the same as a factory load... Starting any higher would have been a problem... Every since then i use the correct manual , you can never have enough published data anyway... Being conservative and following safety rules will always be better than not...Yes , I think it's best to start with Hornady data first then SLOWLY work up with Sierra's load .
