AR thoughts: 22 ppc Improved?

Looking to make a long line AR, that is CHEAP to reload.

Sure, the Dtac's, 6.5's and 7mm are the 1000yd. Kings, but with bullet prices these days, it would be easier for me afford to "know thy rifle" when buying .224 pills.

So what does performance look like with a 22PPC improved on a NM configured AR? I can't find velocity numbers for ANY 2PPCI...

This supposedly would be a ".224 - 6.5Grendal."

Any helps or pointers? insight?

A 22PPC with the shoulder blown forward would be similar to a necked down 6mmAR or 6mmAR Turbo. I considered making them, but it just seems the 6mm has so much better performance and wind drift numbers at 600 yards and the reloading costs,224AR or 224AR Turbo vs 6mmAR and 6mmAR Turbo) would be almost the identical. If you want a long line AR that's real cheap to reload why not just go with a .223 Rem?

it seems that everyone always underestimates he power and versitility of the regular, good ol' .223. with the better bullets now being produced, like the a-max, and the sierra match king, in 75-77 grns, people are redably shoothing in long range compitition. these new high B.C .224 bullets can keep up with some of the 6mm bullets.

Have you thought about a 22 BR? I hope to have a 6BR in the next 2 weeks or so. The guy building my 6BR could possibly build you a 22BR using the same bolt and barrel extension that will be used on the 6BR.

That would work or easier would be the 6BR based BRX. Either sounds good to me. My next if there is a next would be a 20BR.
Dtech could build either of those, but he doesn't have a working mag. for them. I bet a 6.5 Grindel mag would work with a little tingering. Good luck, either way you go. I paid less than $1000.00 for the upper to my door.
