I just drape a hand towel over the top of the scope and ejection port. As long as you're shooting from a bench or the ground, all the empties just drop next to you.
And i dont have any railsThe Tacstar looks really well thought out, well made, and priced reasonably.
The problem I have with rail-mount catchers and deflectors is the rails on my guns are already occupied.
This much better than the Caldwell. The hot brass will put holes in the net and then brass flies out through those same holes.
The Tacstar really does work great for the cost. I really can’t find any flaws, never had a single jam. The only thing is one time I had to grind a little piece of the quick release because it was tight on my rail. I think they are a sub company of Lyman. I just wish you could buy the QR pieces separately. This much better than the Caldwell. The hot brass will put holes in the net and then brass flies out through those same holes.

This is the one i use. The base is filled with buckshot on mine but thats not necessary if you have plenty of room on the bench for it to sit. If it overhangs at all weighting it down works good. Id use sand if i had to do it again
These work very well. I had to have a non AR specific version for the steel battle riflesI need a couple and I like something that doesn't mess with the balance of the rifle.
Those do look good and would be handy to use shooting pistols if the catcher was mounted on a tripod. Netting won’t melt in your experience will it?These work very well. I had to have a non AR specific version for the steel battle rifles
It doesnt melt on 308 or 223. Im not saying it couldnt because its made from nylon type stuff. Maybe its melting point is higher than fired brass i dont knowThose do look good and would be handy to use shooting pistols if the catcher was mounted on a tripod. Have you got a chance to use the Brass Goat?I know this is an older thread, but maybe someone might benefit from something I just found. I am going to give it a whirl because I have had malfunctions with the cheaper cloth bag units.
