AR brass catcher — Recommendations?

I use a Caldwell AR15 brass catcher. Cost effective and works well.

Hot cases will sometimes stick to the netting the bag is made out of but this never seems to be any problem.

A friend of mine used one at Camp Perry for the pop-up rifle shoot, you shoot 40 rounds (or more if you have misses) non-stop, in two minutes IIRC, and it caused malfunctions when it accumulated a number a cases in the bag. I simply leave the zipper at the bottom open so the cases fall out and don't weigh it down and cause it to sag down and interfere with ejection. More like a brass deflector I guess. Puts them right beside you. If you can empty the bag every so often this isn't a concern.

Having said all that, it is kind cheap and floppy and I'm sure there's much better ones out there.

This one works amazing. Has a adjustable quick release that mounts to the picitinny rail and also is vented to let the heat out. I have them on all my ar’s and some of my bolt guns. No jams ever. The top is a hard plastic unlike the soft droopy net ones

best one I've seen!!!

I use the Caldwell that velco's around the forearm in front of the receiver. Quick and convenient; beats grubbing around in the bushes by a long shot.

Looking for a 223 brass catcher for a AR, anyone using one?

Hi,
Not a brass catcher but deflector. I “modified” it by taping non slip “safety walk”....drops cases right on the table or at your side. (Used a towel or rag)F6A5E10A-173A-4E44-9606-890161EC770A.jpegC8AD5C49-8A0C-4806-A3CD-D423CAA442E9.jpeg
Worked for me not having to chase brass in the grass

The Tacstar looks really well thought out, well made, and priced reasonably.

The problem I have with rail-mount catchers and deflectors is the rails on my guns are already occupied.

Using a Caldwell and am very happy. Easy to use and does not interfere with the operation of the firearm. Catches every piece of brass and I have not had any issues with cases melting the webbing as described by some. Thousands of rounds have been caught, and mine still looks almost new. I expect it will hold up to most shooter's needs and is an excellent value, IMO.

All great solutions. Wish everyone used some sort of deflector / collector when shooting next to me. I also use a Caldwell, but cut off the netting. There is enough of the top part to act as a deflector dropping hot brass right on the table for easy collection.
