Ar barrels

I am looking at replacing the barrels on several ars that are giving me issues. I did some research on the 6.5 grendel forum and one maker that came up was Faxon, so I ordered up one of those. Not sure what to get for the second one. Alexander arms have a good reputation, or for another few hundred bucks i could get a kreiger or the like. What have you guys had good luck with? The Barrels from Brownells have good reviews at pretty low cost. Does anyone here have experience with them?

Don't remember where I got it but, I have got a great shooter in the Wilson barrel on one of my ARs.

I built a 6.5 Grendel to hunt hogs and went with a Criterion barrel. it shoots great! The other 3 AR's I built all have White Oak Armory 26+2"barrels installed on them. Those are all .223 Cal.

My first question would be, what are you using it for?
Deer hunting for my daughter. The grendel was chosen for low recoil, we dont always hunt open areas but there are some areas we hunt that are pretty open am dhave the possibility of long shots so accuracy doesn’t hurt.

Apparently wilson combat and wilson arms(i think) are two different companies. I have heard good about both, but do youbonow which one yours is? Sounds like most guy’s talking off the shelf ar barrels are using wilson combat barrels.

As far as I know, WOA is the only company providing Wilson Arms AR 15 barrels. JSE Surplus has them also - not sure who is chambering them for JSE.

You can't go wrong with White Oat AR 15 barrel.

It depends on what your accuracy requirements are. For AR hunting distances, unless it's varmints, many will work.
I have a faxon or 2 and they are ok, not stellar but not terrible either. If you are looking for something other than 223, I think white oak is largely out of the picture.
Brownells has their barrels made by someone but I would not be surprised that it's a wilson blank.

X-Caliber has done me right and you can build your own to a certain extent. the two I have
shoot really well...and both 6.5 Grendels. One is 20 inches and the other 18.

Well, I will have a faxon on one and an xcaliber on the other. Different conturs, same length, gas system and twist. I’ll report back when I get them to therange. The xcaliber might be a while, bit I have the faxon in hand amd should have tools next week.

Lilja is what I used, Dave at PTG recommenced using their barrel for a Grendel build. Even at 1000yd it shoots some pretty accurate groups for an AR.

Doesn't Criterion make Fulton and quite a few barrels for AR under diff names but are made by Criterion

From what I see, from the one's shooting AR's at the range, any barrel will work just great, as they mostly just spray and pray, as fast as they can feed the beast and send bullets down range.

I have built two now with the AR Stoner barrels from Midway and they have both been very good shooters, half MOA or better at 100 yards.
