After attending a bench match yesterday at the club and listening to all the shooters excited about the first Fclass match ,I believe we are in for a big year!! Our honor board for perfect scores is a big incentive for serious shooting at a otherwise laid back monthly match. The fun starts Apr 4th and everyone is welcome to attend. We have new match directors - Brett Mitchell and his wife Bobby will be in charge of the morning confusion.

Fclass is definitely becoming everyone's favorite match at our club. I am really enjoying the enthusiasm it has created and the challenge of the keeping it a fun match regardless of it's growing attendance. We will just add more relays and let it seek it's future.

I am going to have to disagree with your plans. I intend on beating you like a stepchild with your caliber (284). I was at the range today working on MY NEW DASHER but I won't be shooting it in the Fclass matches yet. We will settle this disagreement on the line when you hand me over a dollar! You will just have to put something else on that itchy spot.

All joking aside, (even though Mike is going down), If you have the chance to get off on Thursdays come out to these matches. Good shooting and good times. This is a very challenging 600 yard range that will make you a better shooter. We hope to see you all there on the 4th!

It looks like we have a few new shooters this year according to my phone calls and emails. On the 4th we need to get signed up by 8:00 and assigned relays so everyone is ready for the 8:30 sight in period. Bring plenty of ammo for the sight in period of approx 10 min. This allows everyone to get lined out before the match and solves a few problems. Once the match is started at 9:00 you are allowed 2 sighters each relay and then all count for score 2 x 15 (34 shots) The sight in period is only at the monthly matches. The NRA approved on the 20th is 4 relays of 20 with 2 sighters only each relay. (88 shots).
I think taking off work on Thursday's to shoot must be why it is such a fun match, ... It's like playing hooky when you were a kid. Tell your boss you have a therapy appointment!!!

It looks like spring is going to get here just in time for the first match. We have a pretty sweet setup for fclass matches with a covered firing line and nice pits. The Apr 4th monthly is a good opportunity for the first timer to give fclass a try. The time frame of the match gives us room to relax and enjoy the day. The match is open to the public and the most affordable match I know of with a home cooked lunch included. There are no strict rules to conform to in the monthly and any safe gun will be allowed to shoot. We even have a bench class for the older crowd. We have 1st place medals for 4 classes, F-Open, FTR, B-open, B-tr.

We had a great day and just plain fun match. Brett and Bobby did a good job putting a handle on the first match of the year. Between all the rusty shooters and the radios quitting, nobody seemed to mind at all. It was just nice to get out and shoot after such a long winter. The wind today was a head wind with sudden left and right reversals. I saw 6's and 7's on score cards of shooters that never shoot an 8, until today!! Our range can eat up points at times but leaves us hungry for more. It was a good day to shoot!!!
