Anyone using camera tripod for f class spotting scope?

Is anyone out there using a camera set up like the monfretto 055 for fclass spotting scope mounts? If so how do they compare to a pole type tripod mount? Also is there any other brands other then the monfretto that does the same adjustment?

When I'm shooting I'm supposed to use this but since I can't read wind to save my life I actually rarely use it.

Yeah I know, its a chicken and egg problem. I need to use it in practice and get comfortable with it, then use it at a match. What can I say, I must have some underlying psychological issues. Probably not enough breast feeding as a newborn.

Well, not really. The answer to the chicken and eggs conundrum is easy; the dinosaur was first.

I'm not going to get into pop psychology trying to diagnose your issue with spotting scopes. If it's a fixation thing, you could should attach one of these to your eyepiece.

When i used a single tripod i would have it set up like this centre post reversed and the spotting scope would be lower to the ground and more stable.

i then found it to be easier not cheaper or less gear to have two tripods. and bought second smaller tripod slik pro340bh. this got rid of my need to lug a tall tripod to the mound and worry about in-crouching on others space.
sorry i don't have a picture of my set up.
for a tripod head I do use the pistol grip style as it get it out further from contacting the legs.
