Anyone use the new B&C target/competition stock for FTR?

Has anyone used the new bell and Carlson target/ competition stock for FTR (or any other use for that matter)? Im interested in putting a couple of these on my FTR rifles to replace my Eliseo chassis that I've been using for a few years. They seem about perfect for FTR but I was hoping to find someone with some hands on experience before I bought one. Here is a link to the stock if folks are unfamiliar with it http://bellandcarlson.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=1128
Thanks for any help!

Yes, have just this early spring built two. One for my buddy and another for me in .223 for F TR. Heavy palma barrels, trued receivers, bolts and ISSF chambers. They shoot very well. They have bedding blocks, for receiver, that match the Remington receiver contours. May bed before it's over and install a rail for my Duplin bipod. They come with studs, two front and one rear. Mine is a sand color and my buddies is a white camo looking color. His has a really neat curb appeal with the stock and black receiver, black scope and stainless barrel. Now in my opinion, if you want to build in .308, the stock may be a little light in the mass dept. Yet it might work fine. Haven't weighed mine, but I think it will pass weight restriction easily.

I have used some b&c stocks before and was not disappointed. As far as weight goes I could always hollow out the stock area a bit and add some lead. Their website says they weight 3.5 lb my current stock weighs 5.5 ish so I should be able to make it up with some lead or a heavier bipod.

The first FTR rifle i built was on a Bell & Carlson stock, it wasn't this particular model but it worked well. Don't remember the weight of mine. If it suits you and does the job that's all that matters.

The first thing I did to the stock was to stripe the paint off. I found lot of voids and filled them in with J B Weld. Setup with Savage 30 inch bull barrel it weights just at 16.75 lbs.

This stock does not have an anshutz rail which you will want for many of the better bipods. The best B&C stock for F-TR is the B&C tactical fully adjustable. It is heavier, has a rail and is fully adustable: https://www.stockysstocks.com/catalogsearch/result/?cat=0&q=bell+and+carlson+fully+adjustable National records have been set with this stock. So, yes, it will perform well for you.

My main issue with the a-5 fully adjustable tactical is that the rear sections is not designed well for a rear bag. I use the rear back for my elevation adjustment so having some taper in the toe is necessary. Yes I'm sure the A5 tactical will work but I'd prefer something with with a consistent taper in the toe. Also as far as the forend rail goes, mystic precision sells an anschutz rail that bolts directly to the threaded inserts were the sling studs are located so, for $25 I can have a rail for a phoenix or duplin bipod.

I seen you were looking at the B&C stock, I have one that is painted that I would be willing to sell if you are going to buy one. I used it in FTR and was great. It is the item #2094 (Short Action Rem 700)

Mine is hydro dipped in "fake wood" color but you could sand it and paint it any color or texture you like. If interested PM me and ill think up a price.

Hey thanks! I am looking for the target/comp model not the A5 model. Appreciate the offer though. Nice looking stock!
