B&C model 2095

I'm looking for a stock that will be used for some entry-level PRS shooting and have decided to go with Bell and Carlson with CDI detachable mag system. As much as I'd like an MCM A3 or A5, saving the money to purchase that set-up would mean I'd have to wait to start shooting. I'm ready to get started now and can upgrade later if necessary.

I'm torn between the B&C M40 style and the model 2095 with adjustable cheek piece (very similar profile as the MCM A5 but without the butthook). I like the look and features of the model 2095 but since it's a "newish" product I haven't been able to find any reviews.

Would anyone be able to share their experiences with the 2095?

Also, would one or the other of these two stocks be better for PRS/position style shooting from a bipod or barricade?

Thanks,

Keith

I have one on a 20" 6 Dasher.

Point of comparison: I have previously owned two McMillan A5 and two Manners T2 stocks.

The ergos on this stock are VERY similar to the T2. It is a bit heavier than a standard fill T2 even discounting the weight of the adjustable cheek, and the finish feels a bit rougher (not a bad thing). The adjustable cheek has to come off via allen wrench every time you pull the bolt, but it retains its setting via C-clip when reinstalled.

For the money, I am quite pleased with its value.

The Grayboe with the M5 inlet is about $85 less than the B&C. It has pillars installed rather than the aluminum bedding but no adjustable cheek. I wonder how it compares.

I have both stocks you mentioned and like them both. I've purchased two Grayboe stocks with the m5 inlet since purchasing the B&C and really like them for the fact that m5 bottom metal is a direct fit.

Both stocks are similar with fit and finish but the Grayboe gets my vote due to bottom metal inlet options.

How's the comb height on the Grayboe? I'm running an XTR II (34mm tube) in Kelbly standard height rings with a 0 MOA Kelbly picatinny rail and didn't know if I would need the adjustable height on the B&C.

Just went and roughly measured the distance from the comb to the scope centerline. Approximately two inches on both with the B&C lowered to the lowest position for the cheek piece-I normally have the cheek piece raised about .25".

I run the same set up on these rifles. 20 MOA rail, low Vortex rings, 30mm tube/50mm objective on the glass.

The adjustability of the B&C is nice, but the Grayboe is just right for my set up, but if my optic was any higher, I'd want to raise the comb.

Hope that helps.

That is one good looking setup. Very nice. I think I need one of these stocks.:D:cool:
