Anyone Tried This??

I'd like to hear whether anyone has tried one of these as well for simple/casual bore inspection. The 7 mm model linked above would obviously only be useful for larger calibers, but several manufacturers make 5.5 mm models that should be small enough for a .22 caliber barrel. For the price, I certainly wouldn't expect anywhere near the resolution of a Hawkeye (or similar), but for such a small cost I can imagine it might be a useful item to have in the range box for a quick look at the bore in some circumstances. The real key will likely be whether the resolution is sufficient to actually see anything useful.

I have one. You can see details in the chamber and throat quite well. Inside the barrel not so well, but you get a general sense. I've read one guy fabricated a fixture to ride in front of the probe to provide light reflection from the internal light source to correct this.

Yes I've got a few and made a fiber optic light for it . The light was also from Amazon , it was originally intended to go in girls hair ( the light ) .
It is only so so , it luck if you get one that will be clear 1" in front of the lens . Yup I've got a few , I had to experiment with them .
They work good for case and die inspection, automotive work etc

Bought a 15 meter fiber optic camera/usb connected with a lighted tip. .20 I think. The only thing good about it is that it does work. But not well. No focus, kinda on the edge of blurry, but I can make out a little details with it. I bought the Lyman and never used the cable thing again, though it is water proof so maybe later if needed.

I have one and it works well if you clean the bore and lightly oil it so the light is more reflective. It helps greatly if you can position a light at the opposite end or attach something in front of the camera that will reflectt he light for better viewing. For the price you can't go wrong.
