Anyone tried IMR 4166 and IMR 4451 in the 260 rem

I can't speak for the 260 but i made the switch to 4451 since I couldn't find h4350 in an 8lb container. I got similar accuracy. Maybe even a little better with the same velocity. Though it took a full grain more with the 4451 to get to the same speed.

I have been using 4451 in a 6.5 Creedmoor with 140 grain bullets. I'm happy with it.

I switched to 4451 in a 6X44mm BR because the barrel coppered badly. It has proven to be a delight. I used it when I shot the little 6 @ 1K. It produced little vertical and usually Chronos around 10fps spread.

I think the problem is temperature instability - that's what you have to worry about.

Temp stability is not as good as H4350, but it is pretty linear and predicable. I'm using 0.6 fps/d on 4451.

I'm using 4451 in a 260 hunting rifle. 26" Brux barrel 8.5 twist, 140 Amax at magazine length. I would have to look up my load data, but I believe it was about 42.5 gn.
